His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia will arrive in Chisinau in the evening of October 8. Shortly after landing at the Chisinau International Airport, at 19.30, the Patriarch will deliver a blessing message for the faithful of the Moldovan Metropolitan Church. One hour later, he will officiate at a Te Deum service at the Metropolitan Cathedral, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the program of the visit published on the official website of the Moldovan Metropolitan Church, a liturgical service will be held at the Metropolitan Cathedral on Sunday, between 09.00 and 12.00. A sermon will be given later and there will be laid flowers at the monument to Stephan the Great. Patriarch Kirill will bless the pairs that will be marrying that day. Flowers will be laid in memory of the soldiers killed in battle between 12.40 and 13.00. There will be also held a requiem. A meeting will follow with war veterans at the memorial complex “Eternity”. His Holiness will meet with senior government officials between 16.30 and 17.45, and with bishops of the Moldovan Metropolitan Church starting at 19.00. On Monday at 10.00, the Patriarch will visit the Pediatric Section of the Oncology Institute in Chisinau and then the Monastic Complex “Curchi”, where there will be blessed the monastery’s cathedral. The delegation of the Russian official will leave Chisinau at 14.30. Patriarch Kirill will not pay a visit to the Transnistrian region and Gagauzia as planned. His Holiness will stay in Moldova for two days not four as initially projected.
