In a meeting with representatives of the local public administration of Edinet district on May 6, the Premier presented the policies pursued by his Cabinet, IPN reports, quoting the Government’s press service.
“Since the Government was voted in, we have been forced to work in a crisis regime and to act in several directions concomitantly: order in the system; larger incomes to the budget; dialogue with the development partners; reduction in prices where it was possible, and ensuring of social equity. The good news is that after 100 days of government, we avoided the economic collapse of Moldova,” stated Pavel Filip.
He referred also to the actions taken by the executive to ensure cooperation with the external partners, regain their confidence and unblock the financing for development and infrastructure projects. It is important for Moldova to be treated as a serious and trustworthy partner at the foreign level. “A country program with the International Monetary Fund will help us a lot because the IMF signs agreements only with the states that have clear game rules and a well-defined approach to stabilizing the macroeconomic situation,” said the Premier.
The discussions also centered on the most pressing problems faced by the villages from Edinet district and the region’s development prospects. Pavel Filip assured that the local authorities will be supported in the projects they initiate and the Government will be their partner at the central level in this effort.
In the end, the participants in the meeting put questions to the Premier, including about the management of local public budgets, public procurement and the measures taken to support the entrepreneurs in the region.
