The work of the legislature lacks clarity, while the spring-summer session was marked by serious violations of the legislation, the leader of the Communist parliamentary group Maria Postoiko said in a news conference on July 20, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“The consequences of such work will not be beneficial to the country and it is rather improbable that the lawmakers of the Alliance for European Integration in autumn will return to an organized work regime for the society’s benefit,” said Maria Postoiko.
According to her, not including the election of the head of state in the agenda is one of the mistakes made by the AEI. “We submitted this proposal in Parliament for many times, but it has never been examined, even if the Constitutional Court said the presidential elections must take place not later than May. They behave as if this is not a problem. Communist lawmakers’ initiatives have been every time ignored. The entire society is hostage of high-level agreements according to which only a certain person must be head of state,” said Maria Postoiko.
She accused the lawmakers of the ruling alliance of not wanting to establish a dialogue with the opposition and of not reacting to the PCRM’s call to form a wide coalition consisting of all the political forces. “They said the dialogue with the Communists is not possible. In districts, the representatives of the AEI voted together with representatives of the PCMR and everything was done in the people’s interests,” said Maria Postoiko.
She also accused the ruling alliance of postponing sittings of the legislature without reason for numerous times. A number of 44 sittings were to take place until now, but there were held only 26.
Another Communist lawmaker Victor Mandru said that the adjustment of the national legislation to the European one was practically stopped after two years of government by the AEI. The lawmakers of the alliance change the rules of the game during the game, said the Communist MP, referring to the Election Code.
According to Victor Mandru, there were made about 400 amendments to the Election Code even after the start of the election campaign. He also criticized the decision to eliminate the post of permanent chairman of the Chisinau Municipal Council.
The Communist MPs said their parliamentary group will continue to legally promote the rights and interests of the people and will make everything possible for Communists’ initiatives to be examined and adopted.
