The responsibility for the situation of the public utility “Termocom” is borne by the Communist Party (PCRM), which initiated the bankruptcy procedure in 2001, and the Democratic Party (PDM), which completed this process through the agency of the Ministry of Economy, Chisinau councilor Oleg Cernei said in a news conference on April 10, quoted by IPN.
The councilor, who forms part of the Liberal faction, said the problems at SA “Termocom” started in 2001, during the Communist administration, when the then Minister of Energy Iacob Timciuc and Deputy Minister Felix Virlan came into conflict with the Chisinau City Hall. “They invoked problems related to the preparations for the heating season. Based on this conflict, they ordered starting the bankruptcy procedure at “Termocom”, stated Oleg Cernei.
In 2001, “Termocom” had a debt of 1.1 billion lei to the suppliers. By 2009, the debt rose to 2.3 billion lei. This shows that the Communists are to blame for the critical situation of the heat supplier. Though the company was transferred back to the Chisinau City Hall in 2009, it was managed by the Creditors Council that included representatives of the Ministry of Economy, CET-1, CET-2, Moldovagaz, and of Red Union Fenosa.
“The PDM, through Minister of Economy Valeriu Lazar, brought the process initiated by the Communists to an end. Thus, a raider attack was committed and the company’s property was taken under control,” added Oleg Cernei.
On April 10, the Chisinau Municipal Council was to hold an extraordinary meeting to discuss the situation of “Termocom”, at the suggestion of the Communist faction. As the quorum wasn’t present, the meeting didn’t take place.
