The Communist Party (PCRM) demanded that the Government resign benevolently, Parliament be devolved and early elections be called by November 21 and the term expired. The leader of the PCRM, Vladimir Voroninin in a press briefing announced that a delegation consisting of Communist MPs, district heads and deputy heads and mayors representing the opposition as well as of representatives of the Civic Congress on November 22 intend to have meetings with President Nicolae Timofti, Speaker Igor Corman, and Prime Minister Iurie Leanca to present the Communist Party’s argument, IPN reports.

“The government fully ignored the demands of the largest party of the country and didn’t try to open negotiations for identifying a compromise. Such political behavior has become a norm for the political forces that illegally hold power in Moldova. They oppressed the state bodies. The aggressive minority that now governs the country, united by the power of the oligarchs and the hatred towards the Moldovan people, completely lost connection with the political reality,” Vladimir Voronin said, quoting a statement of the PCRM.

Vladimir Voronin guaranteed, in the name of the PCRM, that the marches and protests that they will stage, especially on November 22 and 23 in Chisinau, will be peaceful. “We consider that a decisive victory against the oligarchs can be won only by the power of the word and by obeying the Constitution,” said the Communist leader, adding that the PCRM will continue to make effort to show the necessity of dissolving Parliament and of holding democratic and free early parliamentary elections.
