The Communist parliamentary group Monday filed an application to the Constitutional Court, asking verifying the constitutionality of several provisions of the fiscal-budgetary policy for this year, which was adopted by Parliament last month.
Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, MP Sergiu Sarbu said a number of social benefits for certain groups of people, including servicemen, police officers and judges, have been diminished in the fiscal-budgetary policy.
”The death benefit that is paid to the family of the insured person was decreased. The retirement allowance was also significantly reduced. But an earlier practice of the Constitutional Court does not allow diminishing certain social benefits and annulling certain rights that were earned legally,” explained the lawmaker.
Sergiu Sarbu said the Communist parliamentary group determined that the 2011 fiscal-budgetary policy violates at least ten articles of the Constitution and thus challenged them in court.
