“The Communist Party during the negotiations will ask what key post will be given to it – of Premier, of Speaker or of head of state,” political analyst Bogdan Tardea said in the program “Fabrika” on Publika TV.
Political analyst Igor Botan said the PCRM is a good player and does not want to be accused of causing early elections. “Vladimir Voronin will ask the following question: “What do you offer us?”. They can also try to cheat the Liberal or Liberal-Democrat MPs and vote together with the Democrats in order to elect the head of state and then may dismiss the Government. Or they can use this plan towards other parties,” said Igor Botan.
He also said that Vladimir Voronin can boast of having a large maneuvering area. “He can negotiate with Filat, Diacov, or Ghimpu owing to the disagreements existing inside the Alliance for European Integration. The alliance yet does not have this maneuvering area,” Igor Botan said in the same program.
Political analyst and Communist Chisinau councilor Victor Gurau said that if the three leaders of the ruling alliance cannot come to an understanding between them, they can hardly reach an agreement with the PCRM. “The Communists are consistent. From the very beginning they said they will negotiate with every party sparely. The invitation to the dialogue did not come from the AEI, but from the parliamentary groups,” he stated.
In the same connection, the head of the ITAR-TASS Office in Moldova Valery Demidetski said there is no compromise solution or compromise candidate, while the early elections for the PCRM are not the worst option.
On October 25, the leaders of the AEI invited the Communist Party to discussions in order to identity a solution and elect the President of Moldova. They said the discussions will be held at the level of parliamentary working groups.
