The arrest of the head of Dubasari district Grigore Polichinski is a proof of the fact that the Democrat Party removes the powerful opponents in districts. At the same time, such cases of arrest of public functionaries discourage the other mayors and district heads of the country. Such opinions were stated in the talk show “Politics” on TV8 channel, IPN reports.
Alexei Busuioc, mayor of Capaclia village of Cantemir district, said the personalities from districts are now being tested. “Grigore Polichinski is only the upper part of the iceberg, but there are also things that cannot be seen,” he stated.
Nina Cereteu, mayor of Drochia town, said the Democratic Party is removing the powerful opponents and is preparing for the upcoming parliamentary elections. “What is going on at the local level is tragic. The rulers stay in their seats and do not know what is actually happening at the local level,” she noted.
Gheorghe Raileanu, mayor of Cimislia town, said he studied all the counts against the head of Dubasari district and identified no violations. Such cases of arrest of public servants discourage the other mayors and district heads and diminishes initiative.
Communist MP Elena Bodnarenko said that Grigore Polichinski during several months had been offered to join the Democratic Party and his removal from the post of district head was prepared for several times. “The proposals are made by the representatives of the Democratic Party both from districts and from Chisinau,” she stated.
The head of Dubasari district Grigore Polichnski was arrested at the Chisinau International Airport when he was returning from vacation from Turkey. He is suspected of abuse of power, casing of considerable damage to public interests and abuse of power with serious consequences.
