The Democratic Party (PDM) reacted to the declaration issues by the Central Standing Bureau of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) by which three conditions are put forward for taking part in the formation of a new government. In a press release, the PDM says the conditions imposed by Valeriu Strelet are nothing else but a smokescreen that hides the fact that the PLDM is unable to overcome its frustrations and come to discussions, IPN reports.
“We also have a lot to demand from the PLDM, in the name of the people, first of all to return the billion stolen from Banca de Economii and then to free from captivity such vital state institutions as the Customs Service and the State Tax Inspectorate which we continue to suspect of employing corruption and political schemes that favor representatives from the administration of the PLDM as well. But we consider that such things should be discussed courageously, with political maturity, at meetings, not through short news conferences,” reads the PDM’s communique.
According to it, the declaration of the acting chairman of the PLDM is a smokescreen that hinds the irresponsible attitude of this party and the direct blame for the deadlock reached by the country owing to their non-participation in negotiations. “The PLDM could have anytime come to the political meetings held these weeks to find out our opinion and the opinion of their colleagues from the other pro-European parties, but didn’t do it. It preferred to stage attacks through the agency of the media,” said the party.
The PDM notes that it accepted and will accept all the conditions designed to ensure the democratic development of the state – measures that they presented publicly in the form of priorities, in the political negotiations that involved the other pro-European parties that agreed to take part in the discussions, unlike the PLDM.
