The Democratic Party of Moldova (PDM) welcomes the registration of a resolution in favor of the Republic of Moldova, submitted by Congressmen David Price and Pete Olson, in the House of Representatives of the United States Congress. The PDM is confident that this resolution will be soon adopted by the United States House of Representatives and this will contribute to strengthening the strategic dialogue and the political, economic, social and security cooperation between Moldova and the United States, IPN reports

“We consider the mentioning of the U.S. support for the territorial integrity of our country and the settlement of the Transnistrian conflict and of the wish to boost the Moldova – U.S. cooperation in an official document that was submitted to the American legislature is welcome. We also appreciate the fact that this document reaffirms Moldova’s right to establish foreign partnerships “without external constraints or pressure”, including for developing the country’s relations with the European Union,” says a press release of the PDM.

“We also note that the American friends of Moldova are near our country in its effort to consolidate democracy, develop the economy, continue doing reforms, increase energy security and protect its information area.”

According to the PDM, the initiators of the resolution, Pete Olson and David Price, are co-chairs of the Congressional Moldova Caucus and are important supporters of the Republic of Moldova in the United States.

The press release also says that during the most recent visit by a delegation of the PDM to Washington, which was paid last December, the Democratic leader Vlad Plahotniuc met with Congressman Pete Olson, with whom he discussed the strengthening of the Moldovan-American relations and the U.S. support for the Republic of Moldova.
