The parliamentary faction of the Democratic Party (PDM) is ready to take part in the consultations to consider a candidate for Prime Minister with the head of state from next week, IPN reports, quoting a communiqué from the presidential press service.
According to the communiqué, President Nicolae Timofti had a meeting with the leader of the PDM Marian Lupu on May 2. They discussed the political situation in the country and the prospect of resuming the consultations with the parliamentary group of the Democratic Party so as to identify a candidate for premiership.
Marian Lupu said the Democratic Party is ready to take part in the consultations from next week and wants a stable parliamentary majority to be constituted so that a new Government can be invested..
The head of state informed the Democratic leader that next week he will hold consultations with other parliamentary factions too so as to identify and nominate a candidate for Prime Minister.
