If a person with a responsible post will not follow the recommendations of the Audit Office for unfounded reasons, they will be fined 6,000-7,000 lei. For the same violation, the legal entities face fines of 7,000 to 8,000 lei. Parliament adopted a bill to this effect in the final reading, IPN reports.
Fines of 2,000 to 3,000 lei will be imposed on persons holding responsible positions for not presenting the documents asked by the Audit Office, in accordance with the legislation. The legal entities will be fined 4,000 to 7,000 lei for the same violation.
If the persons mentioned in the Audit Office reports do not fulfill its requirements, they will be punished with a fine of 10,000 to 20,000 lei or up to 240 hours of community service. They may also be banned from holding particular posts for a period of up to five years.
Bill author Veaceslav Ionita said the law aims to make the managers more responsible in managing public funds.
