Pensions will be raised by 4.3%

The pensions will be increased by 4,3% from April 1, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a Government decision approved on Wednesday. According to Minister of Labor, Social Protection and Family Valentina Buliga, the percentage represents the average between the yearly rise in the consumer price index and the yearly increase in the average salary in economy last year. There will be raised the seniority pensions, the pensions of public servants, customs employees, MPs, members of the Cabinet and local councilors, the invalidity and disablement benefit. Only the part of the pension that is paid from the state social insurance budget will be increased. After increased, the minimum old age pension for persons working in agriculture will be 529.37 lei, while for other recipients – 594.62 lei. The minimum first disability degree pension will be 423.02 lei, the second disability degree pension - 408.50 lei, while the third disability degree pension – 287.64 lei. A sum of 183 million lei was earmarked in the state budget for the purpose.
