The Cantemir blast and measures to support the families affected by it were discussed in the May 5 meeting of the Government. Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici instructed the Ministry of Regional Development and Construction and other competent bodies to determine the consequences and to suggest solutions how the victims can be supported, IPN reports.
Minister of Regional Development and Construction Vasile Bitca said that most probably the part of the apartment building that was damaged by the explosion will have to be demolished and reconstructed. They are also considering the possibility of reinforcing the construction. Whatever variant is chosen, it will take time. That’s why the families that remained without homes must be provided with lodging.
The Premier proposed that the members of these families should be issued with identification papers free of charge. He asked opening an account to which the institutions and people can transfer money to help the families affected by the blast.
