People who buy health insurance independently from December 29 can pay the mandatory health insurance premium in a fixed amount for 2024. Citizens who are neither employed nor insured by the Government are obliged to pay the insurance premium individually in the first three months of the year, IPN reports.
The value of the premium in a fixed amount for 2024 remained at this year’s level – 12,636 lei. In the first three months of the year, persons obliged to buy insurance individually continue to benefit from concessions when they pay the premium. Farmland owners will pay 1,014 lei. Freelancers working in retail trade, except for trade in excisable goods, will pay 1,622 lei. Founders of individual enterprises and peasant farmsteads, patent holders, foreign citizens with temporary or permanent residence in the Republic of Moldova will pay 2,028 lei, while lawyers, notaries and bailiffs – 4,056 lei.
The premium in a fixed amount can be paid through the MPay government e-payment gateway, at post offices or commercial banks.
The status of individually insured person is granted by the National Health Insurance Company the day the mandatory health insurance premium in a fixed amount is paid, but not earlier than January 1, and is valid until January 31, 2025.
