Pickpocket caught in the act in trolleybus

A pickpocket aged 50 from the municipality of Chisinau was arrested by the police in a trolleybus immediately after he stole the wallet from a woman’s bag. General Police Commissariat spokesman Adrian Jovmir has told Info-Prim Neo that the suspect has a criminal record. In 2008, he was released from penitentiary after serving nine years for theft. The victim, with two children, was traveling in a crowded trolleybus through the center of Chisinau. The thief profited from the situation and stole her wallet with over 600 lei inside. The suspect accepted his blame. He is liable to a fine of 6,000 to 10,000 lei, 180 to 240 hours of community service, or up to two years behind bars.
