PL to name former minister of youth and sport as “Moldsilva” director

Ex-minister of youth and sport Ion Cebanu will be approinted as director of the Forestry Agency “Moldsilva”. The decision was taken in the February 10 meeting of the National Congress of the Liberal Party (PL), Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the party. Octavian Ticu will replace Ion Cebanu as minister of youth and sport. He is a university lecturer, Doctor of History, and International Master of Boxing. Ticu studied at the State University “A. I. Cuza” in Iasi. He is the author of a number of works on history, political sciences, and international relations. Now he heads the Department of International Relations and Politology of the Free International University of Moldova. He has won the title of boxing champion of Moldova for seven times. In the Congress’ meeting, the Liberal Party head Mihai Ghimpu presented the delegates information about the sociopolitical situation in Moldova. “Despite all the problems and difficulties faced by the Alliance for European Integration, the alliance is Moldova’s salvation. Only the AEI can contribute to the eradication of poverty, improvement of the living standards, and integration into the great European family. If the AEI dies, our European project will disappear. The alliance does not belong to Ghimpu, Lupu and Filat, but to the people,” he said. He also said that the problems existing inside the AEI should be overcome so that they hold discussions and solve the people’s problems.
