Members of the Civic Platform “Dignity and Truth” on July 1 launched an online petition by which they ask to prevent the adoption of a bill that allows for the return of the stolen US$1 billion through the people during the next 25 years. The petition is available at www.smarturl.it/NuLegiiMiliardului, IPN reports.
The Platform’s leader Andrei Nastase told a news conference that the Civic Platform “Dignity and Truth” undertakes publicly to annul this law, to localize and bring back the stolen billion when the regime is changed. He and his colleagues commit themselves to investigate this case and bring to justice all the persons who contributed to the financial and economic disaster in Moldova.
If Parliament adopts this law or ignores the petition, the members of the Platform suggest that this should serve as legal and moral reasons for the next President to initiate a referendum where the people would pronounce on the way in which the stolen money should be returned.
