Prime Minister Vlad Filat reiterated PLDM’s position regarding the formation of local alliances and the distribution of functions according to people’s votes in the respective administrative-territorial unit. He told the press that this formula was the most logical and fair, as people in each locality voted their administration, Info-Prim Neo reports. “This attempt to let those from Briceni govern the ones from Anenii-Noi, for example, isn’t reasonable and fair. It may be convenient, but not fair. Each party will get only the power that was given to it by people’s votes”, the PLDM leader stressed. On Sunday, during the meeting of Liberal Party’s local elected candidates, the party leader, Mihai Ghimpu, said that the formation of local alliances should take into consideration the overall results obtained by parties as well, not only the local ones. The Speaker and leader of the Democratic Party, Marian Lupu, labeled the PLDM position as selfish. He ironically named the Prime Minister “the number one person in Moldova”. Vlad Filat replied that “the number one person doesn’t comment on the statements of person number four”. This was an allusion to the Public Opinion Poll, which placed the Prime Minister as the most trusted politician. Meanwhile, the Speaker was ranked the fourth, after the Mayor of Chisinau, Dorin Chirtoaca, and the PCRM leader, Vladimir Voronin.
