“The statements made in Parliament make me say again that the prosecutor general not only was named according to political criteria, but also fulfils political orders,” Prime Minister Vlad Filat said when asked by the press to comment on the report presented by Valeriu Zubko in the legislature’s sitting, Info-Prim Neo reports. “All those statements made in Parliament today by the prosecutor general did not have an informative character and the necessary support. The prosecutor general should know that there is the secrecy of the investigation and the presumption of innocence. Moreover, all these declarations should be transposed to the cases examined by the Prosecutor’s Office, which are then sent to court. However, we do not have such results,” said Vlad Filat. According to him, the prosecutor’s report pointed to shortcomings in the activity of the Prosecutor’s Office and to the fact that Valeriu Zubko does not understand what responsibilities he has. Vlad Filat also said that the PLDM will more insistently demand that Zubko be dismissed. “I demanded discharging the prosecutor general as the leader of the PLDM, which has 31 seats in Parliament and this is a natural right,” he stated. Vlad Filat asked that the prosecutor general be dismissed on October 13, arguing he reacted in a non-professional way to the raider attacks on banking institutions.
