PLDM will not tolerate postponement of problem solving in Chisinau

No delays in resolving the problems of Chisinau can be tolerated, the candidate for Chisinau councilor of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) Victor Bodiu told a news conference on Friday. He said that most of the election runners do not have a clear view on how the problems of Chisinau can be solved, but there are a number of issues that should be immediately addressed, Info-Prim Neo reports. “Drastic and unconditional changes of the methods used by the Chisinau administration to deal with the problems and requests of the inhabitants are needed,” said Victor Bodiu. According to the candidate, the PLDM will insist on the reorganization of the architecture, land relations and trade services and will promote a radical reform of the management of the municipal monopolists working in the public amenities sector. “The intentions of Apa-Canal Chisinau and Termocom to obtain higher water and heat charges will be thwarted as these companies do practically nothing to reduce the losses,” said Victor Bodiu. The PLDM will also promote the setting up of a Municipal Development Agency that will be responsible for attracting private investments and international grants. The PLDM’s team of councilors promises to inventory the property of Chisinau – buildings, plots, municipal companies. Victor Bodiu said the PLDM will make sure that at least 10 streets are fully repaired by the end of 2011. “We will not allow financing the street repair without a preliminary independent assessment of the quality of the executed works,” said the candidate.
