PLDM will reiterate request to Chetraru to attend faction meeting

The Liberal-Democratic parliamentary faction will reiterate its request to the director of the National Anticorruption Center (NAC) to come to their meeting. The faction’s head Valeriu Strelet has told Info-Prim Neo that this time the Center’s director will be invited to choose the place and hour of the meeting himself. The meeting can take place even at the NAC headquarters. “The law enables any lawmaker, not speaking about an entire faction, to seek meetings and information from any Moldovan official,” said Valeriu Strelet. He also said that if the NAC director turns down their invitation again, it will be another reason for assessing the compatibility of Viorel Chetraru with the post held. According to Strelet, the NAC director was asked to come to the faction’s meeting following inquiries made to the Center, concerning evident fraudulent schemes, to which the NAC hasn’t answered yet. Viorel Chetraru was invited to the February 19 meeting of the Liberal-Democratic parliamentary faction. In a communiqué, the NAC says that Viorel Chetraru will not attend the meetings of the PLDM, describing the request as pressure exerted on the Center.
