The Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova announced that it will not take part in consultations with the Democratic Party until this does not state its position on Lib-Dems’ demands contained in the November 18 declaration, IPN reports.
In a press release, the PLDM says it took cognizance and approves of the PDM’s approach as regards the nomination of a politically unaffiliated candidate for premiership. “It is yet premature to say if this attitude is a sincere one and is aimed at resolving the political crisis and safeguarding the people’s interests. We reiterate that the PLDM’s view on the change includes firm commitments to free the state institutions from party control and to optimize their work. The whole society and Moldova’s partners want the independent institutions to be freed from any political influence,” said the party.
The Liberal Democratic Party invited the parties that are not affiliated to the oligarchic system to submit proposals for freeing the state from captivity and creating the preconditions needed for overcoming the serious problems faced by the country.
According to the PLDM, a complex approach that would bring a real change and would give Moldova a new chance is needed to overcome the political crisis and to form a government able to cope with the challenges.
The PLDM noted it will take part in the consultations initiated by President Nicolae Timofti, while its parliamentary group will continue to take part in the legislative work.
