The Government's secretary general Victor Bodiu, who is the candidate of the Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova (PLDM) for mayor of Chisinau, said that he is an absolute technocrat and does not want to govern the City Hall, but do administer it, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The candidacy of Victor Bodiu was announced in the fourth ordinary congress of the Liberal Democratic Party on April 10.
“I want to show that the City Hall should not be managed through politics, but through efficient administration. I enter this competition in order to see what the people's wishes are and to ensure competent administration as manager of the Chisinau City Hall,” said Victor Bodiu.
He also said that he will not populate the lake in Valea Morilor Park with dolphins and mermaids, will not drive trolleybuses and will not make false statements as regards one's love for Moldova and Chisinau. “These things do not represent me. I pledge to be guided by the people's needs,” said the PLDM's candidate for the mayoralty of Chisinau.
Of the four parliamentary parties, only the Liberal Party has not yet announced its candidate for mayor of Chisinau, though the party's leader repeatedly said that it will be the current mayor Dorin Chirtoacă. The Communist Party fielded Igor Dodon, while the Democratic Party Minister of Labor Valentina Buliga.
