The police have arrested 5 men suspected of murdering a man in Cahul this July. According to a press release of the General Inspectorate of Police, the murder was ordered by a 45 year old man currently serving a life sentence in Rezina. The man asked several friends outside of the jail to punish the man who mistreated his 26 year old man, IPN reports.
The victim was 36 year old and was born in Sofievca village, Taraclia district. His body was found in July near the Cahul District Hospital. The autopsy report showed that the man died because of powerful blows to the head and neck. It was found that earlier that day, the man was in a casino in Cahul, when several men entered the place and began to beat him. Afterwards, they took him in a black Mercedes without plates and went in an unknown direction. After half an hour, the man was discarded near the hospital.
The main suspects were arrested in Chisinau on December 10: 5 men aged between 34 and 43, from Cahul and Chisinau. They had all been previously sentenced for theft and robbery. One of them was sentenced in Ukraine, while another one is wanted by the French police.
The men are charged with premeditated murder and face up to 15 years in jail.
