Police distribute brochures on traffic rules

About 500 drivers were stopped by the traffic police on March 24, but not for being penalized. Police officers handed them over brochures, calendars and adhesive leaflets with information about the traffic rules.
Dana Andronic, spokeswoman for the Traffic Police Division, has told Info-Prim Neo that the drive “One Day without Traffic Offenses” was carried out all over Moldova. Traffic police officers distributed brochures on traffic rules to drivers who did not break the rules or committed minor offenses.
According to the police, the drivers who were stopped expressed their surprise at such a drive.
Today’s event will be followed by meetings with company staffs and in education institutions to make the people learn and know the traffic rules.
The 392 accidents that happened on the national roads so far this year resulted in 50 persons dead and 493 injured. There were imposed 32,133 fines to the value of 3.305 million lei for not respecting the road signs, stopping in unauthorized places, not fastening the seatbelt, speaking on the phone while driving or speeding.
