Police on alert: Igor Basarab's murderer not yet identified

The police are looking for the person who shot businessman Igor Basarab in the head in a park in Chisinau's Rascani district on January 21, Info-Prim Neo reports. Chiril Motpan, the head of the Interior Ministry's Public Relations Service, told the Agency that the witnesses helped the police draw the murderer's composite sketch. According to him, the traffic police are checking all the suspect means of transport. Motpan refused to provide more details about the killer, saying he does not want to affect the inquiry. Two years ago, Igor Basarab was also shot in the head, but he survived. This time, the man died on the spot. The police say it could be a settling of accounts between businessmen. Igor Basarab, 44, was the director of the wine company Basarab-Vin.
