Police presume Sergey Ganev was brought dead to forest

The police suppose that Ceadir-Lunga councilor Sergey Ganev was brought dead to the forest where he was found. A wound was identified in the man’s thorax. Allegedly, it is a gunshot wound. Olga Baciu, the head of the Ministry of the Interior’s press service, has told Info-Prim Neo that the man was discovered in a ditch located at a distance of 12 km from Ceadir-Lunga town, in the direction of Taraclia. No gun or blood marks were found at the scene. The police presume the 32-year-old man had a large sum of money on him as some time earlier he withdrew about US$200,000 from his bank account. There was opened a criminal case over intentional murder. The councilor left home on May 1 and did not return. On May 4 he was reported missing and was found dead on May 7. Earlier, Sergey Ganev served as the chairman of the Ceadir-Lunga Town Council. Before the tragedy, he worked as a councilor and as an entrepreneur in the construction sector.
