The police are investigating five cases of supposed falsification of signatures on the lists of persons with the right to vote who intended to vote at polling stations established in Russia. It is a heavy workload. The police are now taking action to determine the technical-scientific basis of all the materials supplied to them, deputy head of the General Police Inspectorate Marin Maxian stated in a press briefing, being quoted by IPN.
The police were also informed that particular persons on the election day intend to take measures to influence electors to vote in favor of a particular candidate, and that a polling station member in whose name an application to withdraw as a member was filed said that he didn’t submit such an application and the signature wasn’t his. There are examined two cases of voter corruption, one of which is a case of donation of goods.
According to Marin Maxian, they examined 50 cases of placing of electoral posters in other places than the allowed ones. In 24 cases, the measures to prevent and fight COVID-19 were violated. In three cases, the police probed deteriorations of electoral posters.
Marin Maxian called on the electoral contenders not to campaign on the election day and the previous day as this is banned by law and they face fines. The citizens were urged to inform the police if they notice violations of the electoral process.
