The Electronic Government Center of Moldova will launch five electronic services for people until autumn, Info-Prim Neo reports. The center's head Stela Mocanu said one of the service will allow the people to alert the police by SMS. The private individuals will also be able to apply online to obtain an identification record. The economic entities will transmit electronic reports on the number of employees to the National Social Insurance House and will be able to publish on the Internet all the files and documents needed to apply for a construction authorization or a license for entrepreneurial activities. The given services will be available on the Government's website. The Electronic Government Center was set up by the executive last August. Its goal is to increase the efficiency and transparency of the public institutions and governance in general by widely using information and communication technology. By digitizing some of the public services, the administrative procedures will be essentially simplified, the costs, bureaucracy and corruption in public administration will be reduced and the private individuals and economic entities will be able to save time, said Stela Mocanu. The objective for 2020 is to enable the people and companies to access most of the public services they need over the Internet and the phone. The program of the Electronic Government Center was agreed in concert with the development partners, including the World Bank, the U.S. Agency for International Development, and the United Nations Development Program, and with civil society and representatives of the private and public sectors of Moldova.
