A 31-year-old man, suspected of selling narcotic substances through Telegram, was detained by the police. During searches carried out at the suspect’s home in Chisinau, the police seized a number of types of drugs that reportedly cost 700,000 lei on the black market, IPN reports.
According to the General Police Inspectorate, the suspect sold drugs through Telegram or through intermediaries, with transactions on electronic payments networks. The money was transferred to other current accounts, registered in the commercial banks of the Republic of Moldova in the name of intermediaries.
During searches at the suspect’s home, hashish, PVP (salt), marijuana, mephedrone and mobile phones were seized.
The man’s criminal activity was revealed by officers of the Organized Crime Division of the National Investigation Inspectorate, together with criminal investigation officers of the Ciocana Police Inspectorate of Chisinau.
The man was detained for 72 hours and faces 7 to 15 years in prison.
The investigations go on to identify other people involved in this case.
