The population is waned to be watchful on May 9 as different reactions to the planned events are possible. Marin Maxian, head of the General Police Inspectorate’s Public Security Division, told a news conference that given some of the organizations’ announced intentions to celebrate or protest on May 9, a special plan was worked out to reduce the risks that can appear in case of provocations, IPN reports.

“In order to prevent possible violations of the public order, the police called on all the organizers to obey the law,” said Marin Maxian. The event organizers are obliged to cooperate with the authorities. Otherwise, they risk being fined.

“The persons who want to take part in the May 9 events are banned from coming to the meetings with guns,” said the head of the Public Security Division. The participants in the events must leave the assembly place if a danger appears. “All the forces will be mobilized on May 9. Depending on the events, there will be decided the number of police officers who will be sent to the scene,” stated Marin Maxian.

The May 9 events that will take place in Chisinau include a march, meetings, a festive concert and a protest that will be mounted by an organization against the concert staged by the Embassy of Russia in the Great National Assembly Square. The police will create inspection filters at the entrances to the central square of Chisinau.
