The placement of advertisements with political content for goods donated to education institutions will be banned by law. The lawmakers approved relevant amendments to the Education Law and the Code of Administrative Offenses in the first reading, introducing penalties for such violations, IPN reports.
The initiative was put forward by a group of Liberal-Democratic MPs. One of the bill authors Petru Stirbate said they aim to protect the children from political influence on the development of civic consciousness and spirit. “The education institutions must be sponsored only for philanthropic purposes, not as part of political propaganda,” he stated.
The fines vary between 300 and 400 lei for private individuals and between 1,000 to 2,000 lei for legal entities.
