Chairman of the political party “Platform Dignity and Truth” Andrei Nastase proposes setting up a fund for supporting the independent press and freedom of expression. In this regard, in a meeting of the National Political Council, the leader of the PPPDA asked for the support of civil society, businessmen from the country and the diaspora and of international donors, IPN reports.

According to a press release of the party, the members of the National Political Council reiterated the necessity of insisting that the international institutions should take a prompt and rigid attitude to the cases of political persecution of members and sympathizers of the anti-oligarchic parties and to cases of persecution of politicians, lawyers and judges who are inconvenient for the illegitimate regime, such as the political cases against protesters, the case of Ana Ursache, Renato Usatuyi, Domnica Manole and others.

“Given the state of captivity of the rule of law institutions of the Republic of Moldova, we ask that the competent international institutions should immediately investigate the actions of Plahotniuc (first deputy chairman of the Democratic Party, e.n.), who was publicly denounced as the orderer and beneficiary of the stolen US$1 billion and of the billions of US dollars laundered from Russia ...”, reads the press release.

The National Political Council also discussed the party’s participation in the presidential campaign in support of the joint candidate and the political developments in the country. The Council members said the elections showed that a critical mass able to put up resistance to the regime and the institutions captured by the group led by Plahotniuc appeared in the country.

The Council underlined the importance of strengthening the local bodies by stepping up the activities aimed at enlarging the ranks of the party’s members and supporters all over the country, including in Gagauzia and the Transnistrian region by ‘removing’ the accidental persons or persons who pursue another goal than the one declared in the party’s political program and imposing a severe regime for respecting party discipline.
