Members of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” (PPPDA) said they will today submit a denouncement to the Prosecutor General’s Office and will ask to probe the facts about judges Dorel Musteață and Nina Cernat stipulated in the note of the Information and Security Service, IPN reports.
In a news conference, the party’s acting president Dinu Plîngău said PPPDA criticizes the appointment by Parliament of Dorel Musteață as judge of the Supreme Court of Justice when there are suspicions about his integrity.
Following reports about the SIS note, PPPDA asked for explanations from the responsible authorities. As a result, the party’s members who spoke in public about this were intimidated. Dorel Musteață issued Alexandru Slusari with a notice, warning him about legal responsibility. Dinu Plîngău and Kiril Moțpan were treatened with criminal proceedings by the head of the General Police Inspectorate Iurie Podarilov, said the party’s members.
Last week, the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office announced that it took legal action over the facts stipulated in the SIS note, but the acting prosecutor general hasn’t yet made related approaches to the Supreme Council of Magistracy. It seems that the announcement was made only for the purpose of calming things down, said Dinu Plîngău.
Former PPPDA MP Alexandru Slusari called on the government to change the administration line until it is not too late as it will not get far in the reformation of the justice sector and in other activities with such policy. He noted that discredited persons will sooner or later seize power.
