The People’s Party of the Republic of Moldova (PPRM) will put forward candidates for the local elections, which should be held by the end of this year. The party’s leader Alexandru Oleinic has told IPN that in the fourth extraordinary congress of the PPRM held on March 21 they set the tasks for the campaign that will precede the local elections and decided that the party will strengthen its team for taking part in the local elections.
Alexandru Oleinic noted that the PPRM will take part in the election campaign with candidates in all the 989 settlements and will also field candidates for all the district and village councils of the country. The strengthening of the team is the key task that must be carried out before the local elections.
“After analyzing the sociopolitical situation in the country, the congress’ delegates made a call to the political forces of Moldova to show unity in the name of the people and the country. We called on the pro-European, pro-national and pro-Moldova parties to unite. It’s clear that today the political class needs a complete reform. This reform should be done by us, the representatives of all the political parties, by dialogue and compromise, so as to identify and set the national priorities,” said Alexandru Oleinic.
In this connection, the leader of the PPRM stated that they invited the extraparliamentary parties to unite so as to create a clear and serious alternative to the current government that didn’t fulfill the promises made in the election campaign and brought the country into such a difficult state.
The congress involved about 150 delegates who represented the local organizations.
