Prime Minister Pavel Filip requested the Electronic Governance Center to check how functional the automated information system “Social Protection” of the National House of Social Insurance is. He also asked that the National Anticorruption Center should determine if acts of corruption were committed at the House, IPN reports.

“It is a very important automated information system that was created at a cost of US$6 million. Besides, a sum of 17 million lei was asked for its maintenance in 2015, while for 2016 they asked 14 million lei. The requests for such excessive sums are not clear at a time when there is a personal identification code in the identity cards of the people. We want to know the efficiency of this automated information system, the durability of its data and how the security of the data is ensured,” Pavel Filip stated in the May 11 meeting of the Cabinet.
