Prime Minister Valeriu Strelet will take part in the high-level segment of the 70th session of the UN General Assembly. In the period between September 28 and October 1, Moldova’s delegation headed by the Premier will be taking part in the meeting that brings together political leaders and officials from most of the states of the world.
Within the visit, the Moldovan delegation will have a meeting with the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon. In the evening of September 30, Valeriu Strelet will give a speech in the name of Moldova from the central rostrum of the UN. At the invitation of the U.S. President Barack Obama, the delegation will take part in the Leaders Summit on the Countering of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) and Violent Extremism.
The Moldovan Premier will have bilateral meetings with his Swedish counterpart, the Presidents of Bulgaria and Lithuania, the Millennium Challenge Corporation Chief Executive Officer Dana J. Hyde, officials of the U.S. Department of State and with representatives of energy companies.
While in the United States, Valeriu Strelet will also have discussions with the administration of the International Monetary Fund with a view to strengthening the bilateral cooperation and stimulating Moldova’s development.
