President Nicolae Timofti made a request to the Parliament’s Standing Bureau, informing that he intends to take part in the May 30 sitting of the legislative body and to deliver a speech on the situation in Moldova. The request was included in the agenda and the legislature is to decide whether to allow the head of state to speak or not, IPN reports.
After the May 29 meeting of the Standing Bureau, Deputy Speaker Liliana Palihovici said that besides the President’s request, the agenda also includes the application of Prime Minister designate Iurie Leanca by which he will ask for a vote of confidence from Parliament.
The permanent parliamentary commissions will convene on Thursday morning to examine the request of the Premier designate. The Parliament’s sitting starts at 2pm.
