President Igor Dodon on social networking sites posted pictures of Moldovan soldiers marching on Red Square in Moscow, IPN reports.
“At these moments, 75 brave soldiers of the Guard of Honor of the National Army of the Republic of Moldova have marched on Red Square! They presented with dignity our country alongside the military of other countries. Good for you! These are moments of special pride for Moldova, for the entire nation, for all the compatriots, no matter where they are!” President Dodon posted on Facebook.
Igor Dodon is paying a two-day visit to Moscow. At the invitation of his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, he is taking part in the military parade staged to mark the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
The decision to delegate 75 Moldovan soldiers to take part in the Moscow parade amid the COVID-19 pandemic was criticized by the parliamentary opposition. The MPs of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” asked that Minister of Defense Alexandru Pînzari should be questioned on the issue.
