After being devastated in April 2009, the Presidential Office was 47.4% repaired. A sum of 223.8 million lei was planned for performing the repair works, but only half of the sum has been allocated so far.

The building is administered by the Government’s State Chancellery. The Prime Minister’s spokesman Igor Volnitski has told IPN that there were repaired the facade of the building, including the strained-glass windows, the roof, and the separating walls. The floor was covered with the main layers of dry mixture.

There are yet to be installed the elevators, the ventilation system and the external electro-technical networks. The adjoining area is to be laid out. A sum of 117.8 million lei is needed for completing the works.

The Parliament Building, which was also devastated during the April 7, 2009 events, was 70% repaired. Recently, Deputy Minister of Construction Anatolie Zolotcov said the repair works may be finished by this yearend.
