Primary Stroke Center inaugurated at Edineț District Hospital

The 9th out of the 13 nationwide created Primary Stroke Centers was officially opened at the Edineț District Hospital. The Ministry of Health said that it will provide patients from Edineț, Ocnița, Briceni and Dondușeni districts with access to high-quality medical services, being equipped with modern medical equipment that is indispensable for quickly and accurately diagnosing a stroke, IPN reports.

The Primary Stroke Center provides computed tomography, ultrasonography with advanced applications for cardiac and Doppler testing, mobile electroencephalography, Holter electrocardiography, telemedicine equipment.

Following extensive repair and equipment according to European standards, the Anesthesia and Intensive Care Unit of the hospital was also inaugurated, in the context of the implementation of the COVID-19 Emergency Response Project, financed by the World Bank and managed by the Ministry of Health. The Unit will provide medical assistance to patients in critical condition, polytraumatized persons, patients with cardiovascular and neurological diseases.

One of the 14 digital radiography machines purchased by the Ministry was installed at the Edineț District Hospital. The cost of such equipment is 3.6 million lei. The installation of photovoltaic panels to the value of about 1.7 million lei is another project that the medical institution recently benefited from.

The state invested 46 million lei in the modernization of the Edineț District Hospital in the last two years, both from own sources and with the support of partners.
