The consultations initiated by Prime Minister Vlad Filat cannot bring anything concrete and society should put serious pressure on each of the European Integration Alliance members to respect their commitments, thinks political analyst Oazu Nantoi, as quoted by Info-Prim Neo.
“Vlad Filat says he doesn’t have enough tools for the Government to work. It’s not about his personal competences, but the lack of efficiency of the Executive as a whole. Those elected by us must speak about mutual trust. These consultations cannot bring anything concrete because, in this situation, society hasn’t too many options”, said Nantoi.
According to the analyst, AIE should announce its clear plans of activity and the society should put serious pressure on each of its members. “We must realize that Moldova’s commitments follow our interests, not the EU’s, the EU doesn’t need us. I think political stability is impossible as long as our mentality is conflicting with the constitutional norms on the election of the head of the state”, stressed Oazu Nantoi.
He added that he had proposed the drafting of a new Constitution. “At the next elections, either scheduled or early, we should run a referendum on the new Constitution, but not one for Ghimpu, Filat, Lupu or Voronin. I want a German model of redistributing functions, meaning a President with reduced powers and a highly efficient Government”, said Nantoi.
The results of Prime Minister’s consultations with society will be announced on Friday, July 8.
Oazu Nantoi has recently left the Democratic Party. The reason for his departure was that the party changed and Nantoi lost his relationship with it.
