Prime Minister Iurie Leanca is convinced that Moldova is able to fight corruption. He made the statement following the publication of the Global Corruption Barometer showing that 64% of the Moldovans believe that the level of corruption increased, IPN reports.
“We are neither the first not the last. We have good chances, will, capacity and important assistance from the EU,” said the Premier, adding that one of the Government’s objectives is to systemically fight the acts of corruption. “We must make the fight against corruption at micro and macro levels more efficient.”
According to the Global Corruption Barometer 2013, 64% of the Moldovan respondents consider that the government is run by special interests, while the judiciary and the police are the most corrupt in Moldova, followed by Parliament and the political parties.
