Prisoners sentenced to 2 years for false bomb threat

The two detainees held in the prison in Lipcani town, Briceni, who in May 2009 phoned the police from the mobile phone they held illegally and informed that bombs had been planted at the Press House, the Chisinau City Hall and the Chisinau International Airport, have been sentenced to two years in jail, Info-Prim Neo reports. The two years will be added to the non-served part of their previous sentences. According to a communique from the Prosecutor General's Office, one of the prisoners is serving time for premeditated murder, while the other one for appropriation. They will stay in prison for six years and six months and, respectively, seven years and six months more. The prosecutors say the damage caused to the state budget by the two was assessed at 109,000 lei.
