Procedure for issuing documents to foreigners will be optimized

The procedure for issuing documents to foreigners in Moldova will be optimized. The term for processing the applications and taking decisions as regards the issuing of documents to foreign citizens staying in Moldova will be reduced from 15 to 5 days. The quota of migrant workers will be excluded. This is stipulated in a bill with legislative amendments approved by the Government. The number of documents needed to be presented for obtaining the right to work by foreign investors and other categories of migrants and by employees of free enterprise zones will be also decreased. The foreigners invited to work in the country by the Government or the central public authorities, based on the agreements to which Moldova is a party, and the foreign citizens who came to work within investment projects will not need the approval of the National Employment Agency for the invitation for work purposes. In order to more efficiently regulate the activity of the private agencies that find employment for Moldovans abroad, there were introduced minimal clauses in the cooperation agreement between the foreign intermediary (employer) and the private employment agencies of Moldova. The bill is aimed at adjusting the national legislation on labor migration to the European standards.
