Professional and amateur filmmakers during six days will take part in four thematic workshops within the Documentary Film Festival for Social Change MOLDOX that will take place in Cahul on September 23-28.
In a news conference at IPN, the Festival’s director Max Carlan said MOLDOX LAB will be conducted by experienced tutors, such as Jon Alpert from the U.S., who was nominated twice for Oscar and won 15 Emmy awards. Jon Alpert will moderate “Inspiration Workshop” that is intended for professionals with experience in making documentaries. The participants will write the script, will film and will produce a documentary of 1-5 minutes. At the end, the sketches will be presented to a European jury of documentary film directors as part of the MOLDOX Festival. Three of the sketches will be chosen to take part in three top workshops in Europe.
The workshop “Exploration” is intended for young people who want to explore the cinematographic world and will be moderated by Nora Agapi and Roxana Comes from Bucharest. The young people will be taught by professionals to make a short film on a social theme that bothers them. After the production and post-production stages, each group will screen the film before their colleagues. The films will also be shown on the big screen on the last day of the festival.
“Action Workshop” is designed for NGO members and will be directed by Gregor Hutz from Germany. This will lay emphasis on viral video clips. The workshop will facilitate meetings with experienced filmmakers and will encourage relations with potential partners of future films.
Johanna Bernhardson from Sweden will conduct the workshop “Advanced Women Filmmakers” that is intended for women.
At the end of MOLDOX LAB, the results will be presented to the general public, while the most successful projects will be awarded. The festival will include question and answer sessions. Ten film directors from different countries will be interviewed.
This year the festival is held in the Big Hall of the Palace of Culture and at the Brother’s Pub in the open air in the evening. Entrance is free of charge.
