A number of 612 localities will benefit from projects implemented in the framework of the European Village national program 2024. This is 82 percent of the total projects submitted, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Andrei Spînu told a news conference, IPN reports.
According to the minister, there were selected 223 villages in which over 1 172 km of water supply networks and 221 km of sewerage networks will be built. In 57 villages, 455 km of street lighting will be put up.
As many as 215 public and social buildings will be rebuilt and rehabilitated, including kindergartens, secondary schools, sports complexes, houses of culture and libraries.
In 30 villages, 36 photovoltaic parks with a total power of 2.8 MWh will be built.
The European Village program remains the largest and most concrete project to build infrastructure in Moldova’s villages and cities and the most important instrument through which the Government directly responds to the needs of the localities and the people, said Andrei Spînu.
The implementation period of the selected projects is 2024-2025.
