Polling places opened with delay, unsealed ballot boxes and presence of advertising materials near polling places are among the deviations identified by the Promo-LEX mission that is observing the local referendum on the dismissal of the mayor general of Chisinau by 10am, IPN reports.
In polling place No. 59 of Botanica district, the observer of Promo-LEX was prevented from freely monitoring the voting process. In two cases, advertising materials, posters and electoral billboards were discovered within 100 meters of polling places.
In seven polling places, the ballot boxes were sealed up with deviations from the legal procedures. The seals on ballot boxes were damaged or absent. The observers of Promo-LEX also identified cases of presence of dead persons on voter rolls and cases of photographing of identity cards.
On the referendum day, Promo-LEX assigned by one observer at each polling place. The observers’ work is coordinated by the association’s central team.
