Acting prosecutor general Dumitru Robu requested to lift the immunity of MP Marina Tauber. Two applications to this effect were presented at the beginning of the July 21 sitting of Parliament, IPN reports.
Speaker Igor Grosu read the acting prosecutor general’s requests to lift the parliamentary immunity of Marina Tauber so that she could be arrested, searched and tried.
Dumitru Robu invoked Penal Code articles, particularly the falsification of reports on the financial management of initiative groups and political parties and/or reports on the financing of election campaigns, and conscious acceptance of financing for the political party, the initiative group or the election runner from an organized criminal group or a criminal organization (association).
The applications were submitted to the Parliament’s legal commission for appointments and immunities.
MP Marina Tauber came with a reaction on her Facebook page. She said that the government is in agony, especially after they saw the results of the latest polls, which show that they lost half of the voters. “They see that PAS’ rating declines, while the rating of Șor Party increases. This makes them mad. This is how “independent” justice and how the “good times” promised by PAS look like in our country. All these deeds will not remain unpunished. The recent history of the Republic of Moldova shows that all those who started criminal cases by order ended up in jail,” wrote the MP.
